Have you seen what's going on at Asbury?

Hey friends! πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

This week's newsletter may read a little bit differently if you've been coming around for some of the faith-based productivity content that I've been putting out over the past couple of weeks. (Don't worry, we'll come back to that soon enough) I want to use this week's thought to highlight something that I've been noticing, as well as some things that I just can't get off my mind. Thanks for reading!

Let's dive right in.

A Thought. πŸ’‘

Have you seen what's been doing on at Asbury University?

In case the story hasn't reached your social media outlets or you don't live and move in the circles that I do, God seems to be up to something at Asbury University (and consequently some other places as well--and there's surely more to come). Long story short, last week students participated in a regularly scheduled chapel worship service--but it didn't stop. The gathering, which usually lasted about an hour, continued going after a small group of students hung around and kept worshipping. They were praying for revival, for a move of God on their campus--and that's exactly what happened. For the next 80 hours or so, there was a constant flow of people gathering into the auditorium to worship, pray, and testify to what God was doing among them.

But here's the thing. It still didn't stop there.

It's still going. Only now its begun to spread. Groups of students from colleges both nearby and far away have piled into buses and traveled to Asbury to be a part of what was going on. Other universities have started praying for and experiencing much of the same thing. Just open up YouTube and search "Asbury" and you'll find a long list of videos--everything from a cell phone video from the balcony of the auditorium to big news outlets talking about what's going on.

And did I mention that all of this started when a group of college students began to pray and ask God to do something among them and bring revival, healing, and faith to their campus?

When's the last time you prayed for something like that, full of faith that God would actually do something? I could ask myself the same question.

I'm believing that God is up to something substantial right now. (And no, I don't mean that to say that God isn't doing something all the time) I mean that I believe that God is using the next generation to start something new here and now. And I can't wait to be a part of it.

For the past few weeks, I've felt a bit of a stirring in my own spirit that I haven't been able to shake. And while I'm still praying and trying to figure out what all of it means for me personally, I'm believing that the things we're seeing across the country aren't isolated incidents. I'm praying for eyes to see and ears to hear what God has in store.

If you're intrigued, but you find yourself skeptical or hesistant, here's a couple of thoughts that I'd like for you to consider.

First, ask yourself the question: What if this really is God's Spirit moving here? What would that mean for the future? For our country? For the next generation?

Second, what if you prayed the same thing that the first group of college students prayed at Asbury? What if you prayed to see God move in a profound way in your own town, school, workplace, home? Give it a shot and see what happens.

I've got lots of thoughts about this and lots of related ideas, but I'll save those for next week (and beyond).

A Resource. πŸ“š

Have you ever read a book that once you finished it, you just wanted to flip back to the first page and start over again?

John Mark Comer's *The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry* was one of those books for me. Ever since I finished reading it (right after it originally came out), I've been trying to find an excuse to read it again. I'm confident it will be the same for you.

A Verse. ✝️

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable; it keeps no record of wrongs; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

-- 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NRSVue)

Hey friends! πŸ‘‹πŸΌ I'm turning 30 in less than a month. And yes, that's still strange for me to say. Normally birthdays for me are fun and I rarely think about the number itself, this one has me thinking a lot lately about my life. To be honest, this one feels heavy--in a good way. With a new decade on the horizon, I'm thinking a lot about the seasons of my life and the experiences that I've had that have led me to this place. And while I can't write about everything I've been working through in...

Hey Reader! πŸ‘‹πŸΌ Last week, we brought back Three Things after being away for a while. In case you missed last weeks newsletter, you can check it out here. This week, I'd like to change it up just a bit. Instead of a thought, how about a question? A Question ❓ Normally, Three Things follows a pretty simple framework: A Thought, A Resource, and A Verse. Early on, I decided to stick to this framework as best as I could because we wanted to stay organized and make things easy for you, the readers,...
